Singles Holidays Picnics for 2007

Wednesday, July 4th for Independence Day
Saturday, August 4th for Colorado Day
Sunday, September 2nd for Labor Day

Time: 4pm to 9pm

Includes: Music and Dancing on the Pavilion, Volley Ball, Crocket, Horseshoes, Frisbees, etc...Enjoy John's famous hamburgers with all the trimmings, chips, salad, cookies, lemonade and soda.

Bring: Lawn chair, frisbees, sunscreen and even stay for fireworks

Additional: There will be a Cash Bar for any alcoholic beverages. (Please do not bring any alcohol to the picnic)

Cost: $12 per person

In the past, we have had anywhere from 150 to 225 people attend our Picnics. No RSVP required. Just show up!

If it rains, we move into the club house for music and dancing!

From I-25 ~ Take US-285 (Hampden) to the WADSWORTH BLVD exit
Going South on Wadsworth
Turn West (right) at the first traffic light (Bennigans is on the right) onto W HAMPDEN SOUTH SERVICE RD which becomes W HAMPDEN AVE FRONTAGE RD.
When the road becomes parallel with the highway look for a green sign on the right - to Foothills Golf Course. this is at CarrSt.
Turn LEFT onto S CARR ST ~ Drive right into the parking lot. We are located on the left/east side (between the driving range and the club house).

Mira Vista Golf Course at Lowry, Aurora Colorado

An after-work golf league for adult singles ages 40+ will be held every Wednesday at Mira Vista Golf Course at Lowry beginning April 11.
The weekly mixers team two men and two women to play in a “scramble” format. Registration starts at 5 p.m. with the first tee time at 5:30.

Beginners are welcome since four players compete as a team with everyone contributing. All four players hit their drives, then the team selects the best ball and all four players hit their next shots from there. One person in each team will be a Golf Host, an experienced golfer who will help others with playing tips etiquette and rules.

Following the nine-hole play there will be a party with music on the outdoor deck overlooking the course.

The events are called the “Mulligan Mixers.” In golf jargon, a mulligan denotes taking a second shot without penalty after the first effort failed.

League registration is only $25. This guarantees you a spot for each of the ten weeks, however your not committed to playing every week.

When you do play there is a $19 weekly fee that includes the green fee, snacks and prizes and a weekly after golf party on the patio.

Sessions are for April 11 - June 12 and June 27 - August 31.
Register at the course on April 11th.

Mira Vista Golf Course is in the southeast corner of the former Lowry AFB at South Havana and East Alameda.

The Mulligan Mixers are headed by John Edwards of Professional Singles that co-sponsors the Holiday Singles Picnics at Foothills Golf Course. John Edwards has published the Colorado Golfer Newspaper 21 years.

LATE NIGHTS IN DENVER SINGLES FUNDRAISERS.

Late Nights
A long-standing Denver tradition, Late Nights are unique singles events held at upscale restaurants in the downtown and Cherry Creek neighborhoods. Started by a core group of community-minded, young professionals in the late 1980s, Late Night Parties have been a mainstay of Denver nightlife for over fifteen years.

In 2004, Late Night parties raised $20,000 for adult cancer patients while helping Late Night venues earn thousands of dollars each through bar proceeds and additional business such as Christmas party bookings.

Late Night Parties are held at restaurants like Chinook Tavern, Chopper’s Sports Grill, Marlowe’s, and Manhattan Grill. Each party attracts 100-250 guests who enjoy their first drink, complimentary appetizers and music for the price of their cover charge.
